Old Route 66 first comes in close proximity to the BNSF "Transcon" (former AT&SF Main Line) west of Albuquerque at Suwannee NM. The highway and the railway will be constant companions from this point, all the way west to Los Angeles. This view looks west at BNSF's Suwannee crossovers.
