Any photographic study of the BNSF Transcon across western New Mexico has to include the important junction at Dalies, where the ex-ATSF passenger main line via Raton Pass meets the gentler profiled "freight" main via Clovis and Belen. We arrived at Dalies during the very harshest of the summertime New Mexico midday sunshine.
